Pansy Lake Trail To Twin Lakes

I spent two days in the Bull of the Woods Wilderness on this hike from Pansy Lake trailhead to Twin Lakes. Lots of elevation changes made this quite the trek but the high mountain lake, 4500 ft. was worth it. Great to swim in, you can fish if you want to eat 6 inch brook trout. There are 6 campsites at the lake, real quiet. Pansy lake is a nice detour along the way. Hiking on the Mother Lode Trail gives you great views of Mt. Jefferson to the east. Lots of old growth forest to hike through and Rhododendrons everywhere. There were a few campsites spread out along the trail as hikes through the BOW wilderness can range from 1 to 5 days. This hike isn't for everyone, as the elevation gains and loses 1000 feet 4 times each way. A black bear was seen at Twin Lakes the night before we made camp, and we hung our food.
